I encourage you all to head over to the Sunday Stamps blog to check out the awesome design team and to play along.  This is such a fun challenge blog.

This week is a sketch week and it was challenging for me...

In the end, I decided to use washi tape which is fairly unusual for me.  And, I decided that I really wanted to use Blendabilities and one of the most beautiful stamp sets in Stampin' Up!'s Annual Catalogue - Blended Bloom.

Love Is In The Air...

Hi Everyone!  Happy Monday!

Today, we have another fantastic sketch over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  This was a fun one to work with (as usual) and I encourage all of you to come over, check us out and play along!  The rest of the talented DT creations will be hitting the AHSC blog on Wednesday if you are looking for even more fabulous inspiration.

Here is this week's sketch:

And here is my card:

As per normal, I decided to play along with a few challenges while getting my DT card put together:

I always have such a fun time playing along with these ladies and this week is no different.  The challenge this week was to use Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake and Basic Black.  I hope they don't mind but I had to substitute Real Red for the Cherry Cobbler...

I haven't had a chance to play along with these ladies for a while and I so love when I do.  This week's challenge is to use red, white and kraft.  I was also definitely inspired by their inspiration photo below.

This a new challenge for me - a friend of mine came across this one.  I am looking forward to continuing to play along every chance I get.  This week's theme at the watercooler is "New".  So I have used a new stamp set - Hello Life - and the new Stacked With Love DSP stack.  Both are from Stampin' Up!'s new Occasions Catalogue.

Card Recipe (all products used are Stampin' Up! products unless otherwise indicated):

Card Stock: Crumb Cake, Real Red, Whisper White, Stacked With Love DSP Stack
Stamp Sets: Hello Life
Inks: Tuxedo Black Momento
Tools/Techniques: Big Shot, Hearts a Flutter Framelits, Linen Thread

Wedding Congrats!

Happy Monday Everyone!

I trust you all had a wonderful weekend!  I did.  I spent some time this weekend celebrating some birthdays with some very special friends.  We spent Friday night together crafting until the wee hours of the morning on Saturday.  Between the three of us, we managed to create quite a number of cards.  We also got to enjoy lots of food and some libations so it was quite fun. :)

This morning I want to thank the ladies over at Sunday Stamps as my beach themed "H is for Happy" birthday card was chosen as one of the top picks this week.  Thank ladies!  You can check out my card HERE!

The first of the cards I will be sharing with you from our crafting session on Friday night is a card I created for my Husband's cousin who will be getting married next month.  I took the inspiration from her beautiful wedding invitation.  I photographed the back so you all could have a look:

I was lucky enough that this week over at CAS - Colours and Sketches blog, the challenge was to use Perfect Plum, Elegant Eggplant and Crushed Curry.  I thought this would work perfectly with my ideas for this card.

I was also in love with this week's sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.  The card easily came together after this...

From all of this inspiration, here is the card that I created:

To create some of the lighter colours, I simply stamped off using both the Perfect Plum and Elegant Eggplant inks.  I love how the "splatters" look using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set from Stampin' Up! - don't you?  I think this will become one of my favs!

Card Recipe (all Stampin' Up! products):

Card Stock: Whisper White, Elegant Eggplant
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Crushed Curry
Stamp Sets: Secret Garden, Gorgeous Grunge, Label Love
Tools/Techniques: Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Artisan Label Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals

Thanks for dropping by!

H is for Happy

Hi Everyone!

First, I wanted to take a few moments to thank the ladies over at Dynamic Duos as my Shaving Cream Card was chosen as one of the Runner Ups last week.  I really appreciate it!  If you would like to see my card, click HERE.

Now, what makes me happy?  Thinking about the East Coast certainly does!  And this card certainly reminds me of the East Coast and where I grew up!  I really like this new High Tide DSP from Stampin' Up! and thought it would make a great birthday card.  I also thought that a great way to showcase more than one sheet of it would be to use the fantastic sketch over at Sunday Stamps.

And, seeing as I decided to create a birthday card, I decided to enter my card in the Anything Goes challenge over at Seize the Birthday.

Here is my card for both of these challenges:

A fellow blogger mentioned that this card would also work with the sketch over at Unscripted Sketches this week.  I agree as it is very similar to the one above!  I will be linking my card up to this challenge as well.  This will be the first time that I will be playing with the ladies over there, I am very excited to find this new challenge blog as I LOVE sketches!!!  Thanks again Kimberly - check out her blog - Weinerhoneymooners.

50th Anniversary - WOW!!!

Ok, one more post for tonight...I think!  Unless I get on another creative roll.  Hubby is watching the SuperBowl and, to be honest, I have no desire to sit and partake of the craziness this year.  I am enjoying my time in my craft room today!  I probably should clean it up really...

Hubby's parents are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary and we can hardly believe it!  It really crept up on us so very fast.  In order to celebrate this very special occasion, I once again dipped into my new supplies from the newest Occasions Catalogue from Stampin' Up!.  I also dug into my friend's new  tools from the Sale-a-bration catalogue as well. Here is what I was inspired with for this project:

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am absolutely in love with the new Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and the look of Very Vanilla card stock with the gold details used.  And how appropriate for a golden anniversary!  It's really hard to tell in the pictures, but all of the stamping was done using Versamark and then Gold embossing powder.  It was then heated with the Stampin' Up! heating tool to give it a beautiful wet and raised embossed look.  I used the Memorable Moments stamp set for this card - this occasion is definitely a memorable one for sure!

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

I certainly loved this sketch - it was really fun to work with!

I know I didn't use 5 colours this week but I am super pumped about finally being able to enter the Colour Me...!  Challenges.  I have been watching the Design Team since they started at the beginning of January and am super impressed.  Great work ladies!!!

Here is the recipe for this card project:

Ink:
Versamark

Card Stock:
Very Vanilla

Stamp Set:
Memorable Moments

Tools/Techniques:
Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, Gold Sequin Trim, Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Gold Stampin' Embossing Powder, Stampin' Up! Heat Tool, Labels Collection Framelits, Stampin Dimensionals
