Sending Wishes Your Way...

Hi Everyone!

It's time for another lovely sketch over at Atiantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.  I'm not sure about the rest of the Design Team, but this sketch really pushed me outside my comfort zone but I love the result!  Make sure you swing by the challenge blog on a Wednesday to check out the rest of the creations by the amazing Design Team,  while you are there, why don't you play along with us??

My card this week was made especially for my 80-something year old neighbour who fell last week and broke her hip.  So very sad.  But she is one feisty lady and I hope this little card helped to brighten her day just a little.

I decided that I would also play along in this week's colour challenge over at Colour Me...!  Such a gorgeous combination - Elegant Eggplabt, Old Olive and Coastal Cabana.  I, unfortunately, had to do some swaps so the colour combination that I actually used was Perfect Plum, Mossy Meadow and Lost Lagoon.  I know the girls won't mind...

Here is my creation:

Card Recipe (all products used are Stampin' Up! Products unless otherwise indicated):

Card Stock: Perfect Plum, Whisper White, Irresistibly Yours Specialty DSP
Stamp Sets: Perfect Pennants
Inks: Mossy Meadow
Tools/Techniques: Sponging, Satin Ribbon - Lost Lagoon, Note Tag Punch

Thanks for stopping by, I'm so glad you did!

Stars to Celebrate Some Exciting News!

Hi Everyone,

I have some super exciting news to share today - I am the Featured Guest Designer for the month of August over at Colour Me...!  This has been such a hard secret to keep but I am so thankful to Tara and Hayley for this awesome opportunity!  I hope you all will take some time to play along - it is such a fun challenge.

This week's colour combination is pistachio pudding plus a neutral.

This one was definitely a tough one for me but I decided that I really wanted to use the new In Colour Sequins from Stampin' Up!  so the card came together a little easier following that decision.

I decided to also use a sketch that I hadn't had a chance to play along with as inspiration from CAS(E) this Sketch.

Here is my card for this week:

Please take some time to stop by the regular Design Team's blogs to check out their awesome projects:

Card Recipe (all products are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise noted):

Card Stock: Whisper White
Stamp Sets: Perfect Pennants, Endless Birthday Wishes
Ink: Pistachio Pudding, Early Espresso
Tools/Techniques: Masking, In Colour Sequins (Pistachio Pudding)

I would love if you took some time to follow my blog!

Make a Wish - Maritime Style

Hi Everyone,

I need to do some more blog posts so that I can get all those cards up that I made during my wonderful crafting session over the weekend - I love those with good friends and a drinky-poo or two!

I am really in love with the Maritime DSP in the new catalogue so this card really focused on that.  As always, I incorporated a couple of challenges in order to find inspiration.

1. Freshly Made Sketches

Unfortunately, my timing was a little off with this post and I missed the deadline to link up to this challenge.  But, I used their sketch for inspiration and I love it!

I simply love this colour combination - so "Maritime" style.  I chose to do a "Clean & Layered" effect on this one - it's one of my favorite styles!

Here is my card:

Card Recipe:

Card Stock: Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Whisper White, Maritime DSP
Stamp Sets: Perfect Pennants
Inks: Basic Black, Real Red
Tools/Techniques: Basic Black Bakers Twine, Basic Metal Buttons, Banners Framelits

Make a Wish...

Hi Again Everyone,

Another quick post to get in so that I can link up with a couple of challenges before they close!

I had a lot of fun making this card and think it will be a super great masculine birthday card.

Here is my card:

I will be entering this card in the following challenges:

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a project with "Hexagons".
  2. Create a project with "Triangles".
  3. or Create a project using "Hexagons" & "Triangles".

I used some of Stampin' Up!'s new Kaleidoscope DSP that incorporates triangles and then created my own DSP by stamping hexagons from the Six Sided Sampler stamp set onto some Whisper White card stock.

This week is Colour Me...Playful! using some fantastic colours!  I did not have Smoky Slate so I substituted with Basic Gray.

I loved the sketch over at this challenge blog this week and could not wait to use it.  They just recently celebrated their 3rd Birthday!  Wow!  Congratulations!!!

Card Recipe (Stampin' Up! Products only):

Card Stock:
Whisper White, Basic Gray, Basic Black, Kaleidoscope DSP

Ink:
Bermuda Bay, Real Red

Stamp Sets:
Perfect Pennants, Six Sided Sampler

Sending Good Thoughts Your Way!

Hi Everyone!

First, I just want to say thanks to everyone for the Blog Love today.  I especially want to say thanks to Darnell over at djkardkreations for featuring me on her blog today.  I also want to say thanks to the ladies over at Colour Me...!, I received an honourable mention for my Thank you card posted earlier this week.

If you would like to have a look at that card, please check it out HERE!

So I just want to do a quick post before I head to bed (code word for watch Olympic Curling till I pass out!  Go Canada!).  Tonight is Hubby's pool night with the guys so I took some time to pull together a really quick card for a few challenges.

First, I took my inspiration from the Week 3 Spring Sketch on Create with Connie & Mary.  I am in love with banners so I thought this was an absolutely fabulous sketch.

Spring14-03

I then thought about the Late Night Stampers Challenge Blog which runs a two week challenge and the newest one is to use either wet or dry embossing on your project.  This was right up my alley.  I love how white embossing powder looks on black so I decided that this would be my feature banner and would also contain my sentiment.

Finally, I was intrigued by the CASology Cue Card:

I love the BOLD patterns in the newest Kaleidoscope DSP from Stampin' Up!.  I'm not really sure if this will qualify as a CAS card but it was super quick and easy to make and from my point of view, there is a lot of "white space" as a lot of the DSP is being shown.

All that to say, here is my card for the evening:

Card Recipe:

Card Stock:
Basic Black, Strawberry Slush, Whisper White, Kaleidoscope DSP

Ink:
Bermuda Bay, Versamark

Stamp Sets:
Perfect Pennants

Tools/Techniques:
Banner Framelits Dies, White Embossing Powder, Embossing Buddy, Stampin' Dimensionals
