Thanks for Fall!

Hi Everyone!

We have another super fun sketch this week over at Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge!  I have so much fun being part of the design team with these ladies - it is such a fun and supportive group.  I encourage you to drop over to the blog and check out the other Design Team creations - it will definitely inspire you.  But don't forget - the DT creations are not up on the blog until Wednesday each week.  This gives you time to play along before you see what was in our heads!

Here is this week's sketch:

I decided to turn the sketch sideways this week as I really wanted to use one of my newest stamp sets - Seasonally Scattered from Stampin' Up!  I love the sentiments in this set - Thanks, Merry & Love - simply beautiful.  I chose to use this set and incorporate some Fall colours as we are approaching a very Thankful time of year.

There are a few other challenges that I would like to enter my card in as well.

First, The Card Concept has a fall colour challenge this week - their inspiration picture also pulled me to use the stamp above on my card.  I chose to play along using my Clean and Layered card.

Also, Stampin Up Only Challenges is having an Autumn Colours challenge and I thought my card would fit in with their concept this week.

Finally, the ladies over at Just Us Girls have a fantastic inspiration photo - I really loved all of the fall colours.  My card was definitely influenced by this gorgeous photo:

Card Recipe (all products are Stampin' Up! unless otherwise indicated):

Card Stock: Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, Whisper White, Flowerpot DSP
Stamp Sets: Seasonally Scattered
Inks: Cajun Craze, Always Artichoke, Crushed Curry
Tools/Techniques: Stampin' Write Markers, Big Shot, Woodgrain Embossing Folder

I would love it if you would choose to follow my blog!

Make a Wish - Maritime Style

Hi Everyone,

I need to do some more blog posts so that I can get all those cards up that I made during my wonderful crafting session over the weekend - I love those with good friends and a drinky-poo or two!

I am really in love with the Maritime DSP in the new catalogue so this card really focused on that.  As always, I incorporated a couple of challenges in order to find inspiration.

1. Freshly Made Sketches

Unfortunately, my timing was a little off with this post and I missed the deadline to link up to this challenge.  But, I used their sketch for inspiration and I love it!

I simply love this colour combination - so "Maritime" style.  I chose to do a "Clean & Layered" effect on this one - it's one of my favorite styles!

Here is my card:

Card Recipe:

Card Stock: Coastal Cabana, Real Red, Whisper White, Maritime DSP
Stamp Sets: Perfect Pennants
Inks: Basic Black, Real Red
Tools/Techniques: Basic Black Bakers Twine, Basic Metal Buttons, Banners Framelits

A Nautical Father's Day

Hi Everyone,

I don't know where the time has gone or where my crafting bug has gone lately...  It was so nice to get together with a couple of my friends today and actually craft!  It was a much needed release.

Today I thought I should get my Father's Day card done - unfortunately it won't make it to my Dad in time for Father's Day.  He will enjoy it once it gets there however.

I thought I would enter a few challenges in order to get my card done:

1) Seize the Sketch

I loved this week's sketch - it was perfect!

I really thought the colours of Real Red, Night of Navy and Whisper White would be perfect for a nautical theme.  It would also allow me to use some of my new DSP - Maritime.

3) The Card Concept

Today's post from The Card Concept challenge was perfect - use a nautical theme!  I decided to play along in the Clean & Layered portion of the challenge this week.

So combining all of these challenges, here is my card:

Card Recipe:

Card Stock: Night of Navy, Whisper White, Maritime DSP

Inks: Versamark

Stamp Sets: The Open Sea, Teeny Tiny Wishes

Tools/Techniques: Circles Framelits, Itty Bitty Labels Framelits, Smoky Slate Embossing Powder, Whisper White Bakers Twine.

Thanks for dropping by!!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hi Everyone!

Can you believe that Mother's Day is just around the corner?  I am excited because I get to spend the next few days leading up to Mother's Day with my Mom - we haven't done that in probably 15 years.  She lives on the East Coast of our lovely country and I am in Central Canada in Ottawa.  So this is a very nice treat!

I decided to combine a few different challenges this week to get to my card for my Mom.  First, I took some liberations with the sketch over at CAS(E) This Sketch.  I love how clean and simple the sketches are over there and I decided to do quite a CAS card.

Next, the theme over at The Paper Players is "Mother" so this was perfect for this week!

Finally, the colour theme over at The Card Concept this week is monochromatic purple.  I love purple so this was a great challenge for me!  My Mom also likes bright and cheery colours - what better than purple?!?!

I decided to enter my card this week into the Clean & Simple category of challenge - it is not too often that I do a one layer card let alone a card this CAS - I'm pretty happy with it.

With all of that said, here is my card for these great challenges!

The stamp set I have used for the paint brush strokes is the brand new one we received at the 2014 Stampin' Up! Catalog Premiere!  I am in LOVE with it!  You will be too, trust me!

I also noticed after I posted this, that this card would be perfect for the theme over at Addicted to Stamps - this week is CAS.  I will also be entering this card into the mix over there.  You should check them out this week as they are also having a Design Team Challenge.  The DT over there is quite inspiring and do some awesome work.

GRAB OUR BADGE!

Card Recipe

Card Stock: Whisper White
Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder, Black Staz On
Stamp Sets: Work of Art, Delightful Dozen (retiring)
Tools/Techniques: All of the stamps (other than the greeting) were "stamped off" first before being applied to the card base to give the colours a lighter look.

Star Studded Birthday!

Hi Everyone!

Just dropping in with a quick post of one of the cards that I did during our mega crafting session on Friday night.  I hope you enjoy!

For this card, I decided to use the sketch over at Create with Connie and Mary.

CCMC293

I decided to take it in a different direction than above and make it a bit more masculine looking which was right up the alley of The Friday Mashup this week.

Here's your Mashup Challenge:
  1. Create a "Masculine" project.
  2. Create a project with some "Stitching/sewing on it".
  3. or Create a "Masculine project with Stitching on it".
I decided that I would stay away from the stitching/sewing part this week...

In terms of colours, these came right out of The Card Concept challenge this week where I decided to stay with my normal theme of Clean and Layered - it seems to be a trend for me. :)

These colours just screamed masculine to me so that is what I went with.

Here is my card:

I wish the Stampin' Up! catalogue had star punches or framelits to go with their Simply Stars stamp set. In this case, I stamped the stars on the back of the Gold Foil and fussy cut the stars out.

Card Recipe (All Stampin' Up! products):

Card Stock: Whisper White, Lucky Limeaide, Early Espresso, Gold Foil
Inks: Early Espresso
Stamp Sets: Wacky Wishes, Simply Stars
Tools/Techniques: The Big Shot, Banner Framelits, Chevron Embossing Folder, Perfect Polka Dots Embossing Folder, Arrows Embossing Folder

Friend to Friend

Hi Everyone!

Well the weekend has come to an end - I hope you have all had a wonderful one.

Just stopping in with a quick post before bed.  Not sure what I am going to do now - the Olympics are over - I am sure I will start to go into withdrawal starting tonight as soon as I hit the hay!

Anyway, tonight I put together a card using the sketch over at Freshly Made Sketches.

I was in love with this sketch as soon as I saw it and knew it would be the perfect sketch to showcase Stampin' Up!'s Watercolour Wonder DSP.  I have been wanting to use this particular sheet of DSP on a card for a while but have been wracking my brain trying to think of the best way to use it as it is just so very pretty and I absolutely love the colours in it!

I have also decided to link my card up with the challenge over at The Card Concept.  Their challenge this week is to Use a Floral Theme - I think I've got that covered.

I have decided to enter my card in the Clean and Layering portion of The Card Concept challenge.

Finally here is my card, I hope you enjoy it.

Card Recipe (Stampin' Up! products only):

Card Stock:
Island Indigo, Whisper White, Water Colour Wonder DSP

Ink:
Island Indigo

Stamp Sets:
Teeny Tiny Wishes

Tools/Techniques:
Neutral Candy Dots

Clean and Simple PINK!

Hi everyone!

I'm back tonight with a card I quickly created this afternoon for a couple of challenges that I came across through a friend's blog.  I'm not normally lover of pink but today I had to embrace it!

Here is my card:

I will be entering my card in the following challenges:

I thought this was a very interesting challenge blog as it gives individuals the option of choosing the type of card that one would like to make.  For me, this week, I chose to go with a clean and simple card.  It was a pretty quick and easy to put together and I really like that.

2. Fusion Card Challenge

I had actually been thinking about using framelits to sort of provide "frames" if you will, for some time now, and this sketch turned out to be perfect for just that.  And, combine it with a Valentine's theme, it really doesn't get too much better!

Here is the recipe for this project:

Card Stock:
Whisper White, Pink Pirouette, Blushing Bride, Primrose Petals

Ink:
Primrose Petals

Stamp Sets:
A Round Array

Tools/Techniques:
Circles Collection Framelits

Thanks so much for dropping by!
