Hi Again,

One final post for tonight before I head to bed.  Not sleeping much lately, lots of stuff running through my mind including thoughts of playing in my craft room - I should probably get up and get everything out most nights rather than just staying in bed and tossing and turning! Lol!

Tonight I was inspired by the Design Team over at Retro Sketches and their 100th sketch.  Wow, that's quite the accomplishment!  Congrats to all of you!  I will be entering my card tonight in the challenge over on their site:

I wanted to continue to use the product from the Stampin' Up's newest Occasions catalogue as I have yet to use all of it (who am I kidding, most of the stuff in my craft room has yet to be used!!).  I have been staring at the Fresh Prints DSP Stack for a while now and thought, tonight's the night - so I put it to good use.

Clean and Simple PINK!

Hi everyone!

I'm back tonight with a card I quickly created this afternoon for a couple of challenges that I came across through a friend's blog.  I'm not normally lover of pink but today I had to embrace it!

I thought this was a very interesting challenge blog as it gives individuals the option of choosing the type of card that one would like to make.  For me, this week, I chose to go with a clean and simple card.  It was a pretty quick and easy to put together and I really like that.

2. Fusion Card Challenge


I had actually been thinking about using framelits to sort of provide "frames" if you will, for some time now, and this sketch turned out to be perfect for just that.  And, combine it with a Valentine's theme, it really doesn't get too much better!

Valentines & Rainbows!

This is just a quick fly-by post this morning.

2. Addicted to Stamps and More

I took my inspiration from the inspiration photo over at Addicted to Stamps and More but unfortunately, I missed the linkup to their challenge by just a couple of minutes.  

For my card, I tried a new technique that I had seen a few people doing over on some Boards on Pinterest.   By using an Aqua Marker dipped in ink, I tapped it on my finger and it gave the lovely spray pattern all over my card.  I did this with my three colours that I used and I really liked the effect.  I'll share a small secret, the "Happy Valentine's Day" greeting was never in my original plan but I made a small error with my Aqua Pen and needed to cover it up!

Ok, Ok, one last post for the night...

Ok, so I was wrong...one final post for the night.  I managed to pull together one more card this evening.  I really hate stopping when you are on a creative roll - so I didn't!  Lol!!

So, I did take some time out to watch the Half-time Show - Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers were AWESOME!!!  I'm not a big fan of Bruno Mars but after tonight, I can honestly say I will be checking out more of his stuff!

50th Anniversary - WOW!!!

Ok, one more post for tonight...I think!  Unless I get on another creative roll.  Hubby is watching the SuperBowl and, to be honest, I have no desire to sit and partake of the craziness this year.  I am enjoying my time in my craft room today!  I probably should clean it up really...

Hubby's parents are celebrating their 50th Wedding Anniversary and we can hardly believe it!  It really crept up on us so very fast.  In order to celebrate this very special occasion, I once again dipped into my new supplies from the newest Occasions Catalogue from Stampin' Up!.  I also dug into my friend's new  tools from the Sale-a-bration catalogue as well. Here is what I was inspired with for this project:

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am absolutely in love with the new Fancy Foil Designer Vellum and the look of Very Vanilla card stock with the gold details used.  And how appropriate for a golden anniversary!  It's really hard to tell in the pictures, but all of the stamping was done using Versamark and then Gold embossing powder.  It was then heated with the Stampin' Up! heating tool to give it a beautiful wet and raised embossed look.  I used the Memorable Moments stamp set for this card - this occasion is definitely a memorable one for sure!

I know I didn't use 5 colours this week but I am super pumped about finally being able to enter the Colour Me...!  Challenges.  I have been watching the Design Team since they started at the beginning of January and am super impressed.  Great work ladies!!!

Engagement Wishes...

Hi Again,

Another post for today.

This morning I had brunch with a great friend whom I haven't seen in quite some time.  She recently had gotten engaged so I wanted to make sure that I had a very special card ready for her.  So, I dug into my new supplies again and came up with this:

I am absolutely in love with how the new Fancy Foil Designer Vellum looks with Very Vanilla card stock.  To me, it just looks elegant.  I wanted this card to have a "champagne" feel to it.  So I stamped the wine glasses from the "Happy Hour" stamp set in Basic Black and Crumb Cake and then used 2-way glue to add Gold Stampin' Glitter over the Crumb Cake portion to make the glass look as if it was full of champagne.  I then added some rhinestones to add some extra bling and serve as the bubbles for the champagne.  I also took some Crumb Cake ink and sponged around the Very Vanilla card stock strip over the vellum just to give it a little more definition.

I truly had a lot of fun making this card!

New Year, New Look, New Challenges!

Hi Everyone!

First, let me wish you a very Happy New Year - I hope 2014 has been good to you all so far.  So far it's been a little tough for me but we're working through it!

This week I got my order from the new Stampin' Up Occasions Catalogue and I could hardly wait to play!!!  The things in the new catalogue are absolutely gorgeous and to top it all off the new Sale-a-bration catalogue came out this week too!  Goodness, this paper crafter is completely in heaven!

For my first post of the new year, I worked on a card for some friend's who recently had a new baby girl.
